Elias Medina, Vice-President

Mr. Medina joined Channel Industries in April of 2000. As the President of Channel Industries, Mr. Medina is focused on maintaining the leadership position that Channel Industries has earned in the piezoelectric community over the last 50 years since incorporation. Mr. Medina has the responsibility of all business operations, as well as strategic planning for growth and development of new business opportunities.

Prior to joining Channel Industries, Mr. Medina served for over 20 years in leadership positions in the semi-conductor industry. He has earned his reputation as an expert in the turnaround of underperforming functional areas and has led process improvement teams and consistently achieved productivity goals as a direct result of his optimizations.

Mr. Medina has adopted Lean manufacturing practices at Channel Industries, which have led to notable yield improvements, reduction of waste and significant progress in timely deliveries. Furthermore, Mr. Medina has also undertaken an initiative to assess new markets for CII's superior materials as well as making improvements to existing materials. The results have been higher performance and the development of new formulations meeting the needs of emerging markets in Medical Ultrasound Transducers, the next generation Marine, Navy and commercial Transducers areas. These efforts have ensured that Channel Industries remains at the forefront of the piezoelectric industry.

Edward Bickel, Technical Sales Director

Mr. Bickel is Director of Technical Sales at Channel Industries. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California Santa Barbara. In his 27 years at Channel, he has become expert at solving technical issues involving piezoelectric ceramics. By providing technical guidance for a multitude of applications, Ed has helped hundreds of companies with their R&D and prototype designs. With a background in optical manufacturing processes, he plays a significant role in the manufacturing of piezoelectric ceramics at Channel Industries as well. Mr. Bickel was commissioned in the United States Army / Air Force, serving in Vietnam, and was honorably discharged in 1971 as a captain.

Michael Beard, Plant Manager / Manufacturing Engineer

Mr. Beard has been with Channel Industries for more than five years. Mr. Beard started as the grinding department supervisor, the largest production department at CII. Michael has been promoted a number of times since January 2004 and currently holds the position of plant manager and manufacturing engineer. Michael Beard is responsible for more than 40 production employees in six manufacturing departments

Mr. Beard graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Industrial Technology, with an emphasis on manufacturing, from California State University Fresno. To service CII’s Department of Defense contracts, Mr. Beard holds Secret level security clearance. He has held various positions as process engineer and quality engineer with LTD Ceramics, a ceramic manufacturing company. Michael Beard has worked in the manufacturing industry since 1997 and continues his successful leadership role here at Channel Industries.

Michael Wittman, Quality Manager / Powder Engineering

Mr. Wittman is Ceramic Engineering and Quality Assurance Manager for Channel Industries. He joined Channel Industries in 2000 and came with more than 30 years experience in various areas of Manufacturing, Quality, and Research and Development. He received his B.S degree from the University of La Verne. He oversees the operations from the production of the piezoelectric ceramic powder to the finished ceramic products shipped to Channel’s customers.

Joshua Sharon, Sales and Marketing Manager

Mr. Sharon is the Sales and Marketing Manager at Channel Industries. He holds three accredited Certifications as a Professional of Sales and Negotiations, Master of Marketing and Advertising, and Small Business Ownership. Mr. Sharon has been with the CTI family of companies for 5 years, and at Channel Industries since 2007. Operating out of CI’s satellite office in Hoboken, New Jersey, Mr. Sharon utilizes a customer focused approach, selling and servicing the various industries and markets that require Channel’s piezoelectric ceramic products. With over 10 years experience in advertising sales and consultation, Mr. Sharon handles all aspects of the company’s marketing design and implementation.
